Hi my world! I am, well my class is, done with the first book. It was called Technopoly by Neil Postman.
From what I gathered, though it may not be much, the book was about Postman's out look on technology and how the usage of it in our community was turning us to Technopoly. Or in the books very words, "The surrender of culture to Technology" ( on the cover of the edition I read.)
There was a particular theme in the book that I found quite interesting, if you dont mind my random transition. It was about information control and the different types of it. Now before I get to detailed into explaining this theme, I want to point out that a lot of what Postman wrote, and the way he wrote it came off, at least to me, as things that he didnt like or was highly against.
Now, in this particular part of the book, I believe it was metioned more towards the beginning of the book.
For this theme, Postman talks about what he would call information control. For example Families, schools, and i believed he also mentioned something about media. (not done yet)
